The Mariners | Charlie Culberson Baseball program is hyper focused on player development at the highschool age level, our coaches put every opportunity to succeed in front of our players. Our goal is to have your player continue playing beyond highschool.
The history of the Mariners | CCB program has a deep record of developing collegiate and professional talent. With over 145 college commitments and 19 MLB drafted players, our process has been proven to further the playing careers of our players.
The Mariners | CCB program specializes in Highschool aged programs. We have competitve 15u, 16u and 17u teams. With our success in placing players in college, having your player develop through each age level ensures that he has the best opportunity to develop and play at a high level.
Under the direction of Charlie Culberson, Sr. all of our coaching staff shares in our coaching philosophy to develop talent first and foremost. You won't find a roster with 20+ players and additional players flown in for the weekend. Our players are our focus.
Charles Culberson grew up in Rome, GA. Graduated from Coosa High School 1979. Attended Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, AL.
Charles made the team as a walk-on. Made 1st All-American in 1984, 1st team Gulf South Conference. Was a Runner-up in the Division II World Series in 1983. Made all tournament team going 12-19. Selected by the S.F. Giants in 16th round of 1984 MLB Draft. Was on California League Champions in 1984. Won Florida State League Batting Champion in 1987, 320 average.
Finished up in AA Memphis Chicks. Coached professional with Chicago White Sox minor league as hitting instructor. Have been doing private lessons and coaching since 1994.
